Randy W. Bunnell Co. is a residential design and building service located in Nevada County, California.  We have been serving the needs of our clients since 1977.  Our personnel have an extensive background in construction project design and development management.  As such, we realize the design and build process can be a time of stress and major decision making.  To make the process as enjoyable and stress-free as possible we will accommodate your lifestyle, listening to your wants and needs, and always striving to stay within your budget range.

We pride ourselves in being sensitive to the sites we develop. Our designs fit the site rather than forcing a site to fit the design. Certainly the site will have to be disturbed for construction, however, there are ways to minimize the land disturbance. Several of our projects have been located on sloping or otherwise sensitive sites. We can handle them all.

Randy W. Bunnell Co. homes are well built by our own craftsmen and quality subcontractors.  Our own crews will generally take on the foundation, framing, siding, decking, and interior trim.  Our subcontractors will handle the plumbing, electrical, heating and air, insulation, drywall, roofing, cabinetry and countertops, painting and floor coverings. We also work with those clients that prefer to be their own “General Contractor” and hire their own subcontractors or do some of the work themselves.

In 2006 we began using insulating concrete forms (ICF) for our exterior wall systems.  This method of construction has quickly become or preferred method of construction. ICF homes are stronger, more energy efficient, and quieter than conventional framed homes. Depending on the complexity of the site and the design of the home, we have found a home built with ICF’s to be cost competitive with framed homes.

In all of the homes we build, we select materials that are high in quality, low in maintenance, energy efficient and environmentally sound.  We have been building green for years and are building greener with each new project.
